The devastation
caused by the Tsunami disaster on the 26th of December
shocked the entire world. We watched the agony on the
faces of the survivors with deep sorrow. While empathizing
with all the families of the victims, all of us wanted
to do our best to help our country men to recover from
this dreadful event. So many in our Sri Lankan community
stepped forward selflessly and launched various programs
to raise funds to support the disaster relief effort of
the Temple. We would be remised not to acknowledge the
invaluable effort by the following families and organizations
to raise funds for the Disaster Relief Fund for Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, the dedication and perseverance of Yasodha
Ratnasekera to explore every avenue to raise as much money
as possible for this worthy cause is commendable. The
contributions made to the Disaster Relief Fund for Sri
Lanka to date (more than $92,000) far surpass our expectations,
which is a testament to the tireless hard work by all
people mentioned herein.
